Cartier
Arcadia Electrical has ventured into the luxury retail sector, serving as the primary electrical contractor on the renovation of Cartier’s flagship store in New York City. This highly publicized, elaborate expansion of the international brand’s store on Fifth Avenue makes it the largest Cartier store in the country.
The Italian Renaissance-style building was designed by the legendary architect Robert W. Gibson for financier Morton F. Plat and is 8,000 square feet with expansive 22-foot ceilings. The project includes renovating the original building and adjacent townhouse and enlarging the penthouse, which will serve as a lavish, new event space. The Fifth Avenue storefront was also completely redesigned. A large bay was placed in the store’s entrance, with a new, open staircase connecting all four floors of retail space, increasing the square footage to 21,500 square feet on the four levels.
Arcadia Electrical was responsible for all the electrical work on this exclusive, historic project including but not limited to two new electrical services, power distribution and the complete light fixture installation. Arcadia Electrical’s involvement in the renovation is of paramount importance, as their lighting will be highlighting the timeless and elegant fine watches, wedding and engagement rings, diamond jewelry and other luxury goods.
